This past Saturday we had 15 Scouts (boys & girls) with 6 parents participating in trail work thanks to Scoutmaster Hank Burton.  It was a beautiful fall day and we accomplished a substantial amount of pruning and brushing on Splash Dam Trail. Dolly Sods Wilderness area has many popular hiking trails near Canaan Valley. It is located in the Monongahela National Forest and is part of the National Wilderness Preservation System. Dolly Sods has recently been identified as a hot spot by the “Leave No Trace” organization. A hot spot is an area impacted by human activities.  By

Trail Work Updates September 2022 Four volunteers joined HoH for our Tuesday trail work night.  Brushing and trimming back was done on the River Road Trail in addition to drainage work.  One washed out culvert near the pond has been replaced with two culverts thanks to Charles Barker owner of H&H Hardware in Thomas, WV.  Zachary Adams

HoH is grateful for all the volunteers that have participated in our trail work days this Spring and Summer.  Volunteers worked on Walking Stick, River Road, Hellbender, Promised Land, Hoodoo/Moon Rocks, Yellow Creek, Beaver Creek & Splash Dam trails and Trials Road.  Trail maintenance activities included pruning, tread/drainage work, downed log removal and grass trimming.
